Skitflow

ClickHouse

This guide will cover how to connect to your ClickHouse databases in Skitflow using the native protocol.

Skitflow only publishes the ClickHouse native TCP port (9000) externally — the HTTP interface (8123) stays internal to the cluster network. Use a client that speaks the native protocol, such as clickhouse-client; GUI tools that only support the HTTP/JDBC driver (e.g. DBeaver's default driver) will not be able to connect over the external port.

Available on both cloud and self-hosted Skitflow instances.

  1. Go to your clickhouse database in Skitflow.
  2. In External Credentials, enter the External Port (Internet) — make sure the port is not in use by another service, e.g. 9000, and click Save. On a Kubernetes cluster, the external port must be a NodePort in the 30000–32767 range.
  3. It will display the External Connection URL eg. clickhouse://user:[email protected]:9000/database.

Install clickhouse-client and connect:

clickhouse-client --host 1.2.4.5 --port 9000 --user user --password password --database database

Done! Now you can query the database from clickhouse-client.

If you prefer a GUI, use one that supports the native TCP protocol (e.g. DataGrip with the native ClickHouse driver, or Tabix) rather than DBeaver's default HTTP driver.
